On most occasions, it is expected that parents/carers will arrange for transport of their children to and from matches/events.
On the occasions where this is not possible parents/carers can ask other parents/carers if they are willing to transport your child.
Darwen Girls & Ladies, or its officials cannot be held responsible for making these arrangements, and as such we as a club do not provide any insurance cover for your child whilst being transported in this way.

As a club, we do not have a specific policy but we do offer these guidelines to both parties involved.

The parent/carer of child being transported:

 It is your responsibility to ensure you are at the designated pick up and drop off points on time.
 It is your responsibility to ensure the driver is fully insured, the vehicle is roadworthy and the driver is fit to drive.
 It is your responsibility to ensure your child behaves so as not to put the driver and other passengers in danger.
 It is your responsibility to ensure your child wears a seat belt securely fastened at all times.

Your child is the most valuable thing in your life, so please ensure you follow the above guidelines.

The driver:

 Make sure you have arranged a definite pick up and drop off time at a location convenient to yourself.
 Make sure you have adequate insurance and your vehicle is fit for purpose.
 Make sure you are fit to drive and not under the influence of drink or drugs.
 Make sure all passengers are wearing correctly secured seat belts.

This is a private agreement both parties are entering and as such is not sanctioned by Darwen Girls & Ladies., nor is it sanctioned by any of its officials.

TRANSPORT POLICY WHEN TRANSPORT IS ARRANGED BY DG&L

From time to time Darwen Girls & Ladies arrange for the transportation of children to events (e.g. matches, tournaments, events etc.).
When such an occasion does arise the club will follow the following procedures:

 There may be occasions when Darwen Girls & Ladies ask another parent associated with the club to transport children to and from a club activity.
 Darwen Girls & Ladies can only ask parents to provide transport if they have had a CRB check completed passed.
 There may be occasions when Darwen Girls & Ladies hire a self-drive minibus or a coach with driver.

If Darwen Girls & ladies hire a self-drive minibus or coach and driver we will:

 Confirm that the vehicle and driver are fully insured for the purpose for which they are being used.
 The drivers hold current valid driving license entitling them to drive the class of vehicle being used.
 That the driver is fit to drive and not under the influence of drink or drugs.
 Ensure the vehicle to the best of our ability is safe and roadworthy.
 That all passengers wear securely fastened seat belts if fitted.

The conditions under which the adult agrees to provide use of their own car are as follows:

 Confirms that he/she is willing to use his/her own car for transporting children to and from activities which Darwen Girls& Ladies are taking part in.
 He/she has appropriate insurance cover and has checked with his/her insurance company that members transported voluntarily are insured.
 Has a current, valid driving license.
 Shall ensure that the vehicle is roadworthy in all respects.
 Shall ensure that all passengers wear correctly fastened seat belts.
 Shall at no time transport a member whilst under the influence of drink or drugs.
 Shall at no time transport a single member under the age of 17 unless that member is their own child.

As a parent/carer you agree to:

 Inform your child that seat belts must be worn always whilst being transported.
 Inform your child not to lean out of the window whilst being transported.
 To abide by all reasonable safety requests made by the driver.
 Inform your child of the behavior expected whilst being transported
 Meet the driver at the designated pick up point on time.
 Meet the driver at the designated drop off point on time.

The driver is NOT A TAXI SERVICE and should not be expected to drop off at your front door.

The declaration below must be signed before your child can be transported by a driver authorized by Darwen Girls & Ladies.
